Discover where the inhabitants of Prague relax and live – experience the REAL Prague! Vinohrady, meaning Royal Vineyards – Prague 2 district used to have many wine cellars and produce wine in previous centuries. It is also home to some beautiful Art Nouveau buildings, Vinohrady’s theatre and the Cubistic Church in the middle of George of Podebrady Square. George of Podebrady square separates Prague 2 – Vinohrady from Prague 3 – FAMOUS ZIZKOV!
WThe icon of Zizkov district is Prague TV tower, “communist rocket” ;o) – nowadays decorated by eccentric statues of 2 meters big black babies, which are climbing up the tower and going back down… This 216 meters high tower offers a view of the entire city and also an unusual and very stylish restaurant. Right next to the TV tower is situated Prague’s 2nd Jewish cemetery from the 17th century.
About only 5 minutes by walk is situated PALACE AKROPOLIS, amazing building with abstract architecture, bit of cubism, bit of art deco…here you can stop for a meal at a traditional Czech Restaurant and also visit the Music Club AKROPOLIS – once you want to go out for dancing. Another famous part of Zizkov is Riegrovy Sady – famous beer garden surrounded by a park. Zizkov’s narrow winding streets are hiding plenty of traditional and cheap Czech pubs, clubs, bars…You will meet many locals but also Prague’s international community from all over the world.
You´ll also get to learn how locals, as well as expats, live and how is it to become a Praguer.
