Take a ride in Trabant 601 through the city of Prague and discover the most unique monuments and learn stories from the 20th century connected with enormous struggles during WWII and the communist era. The first authentic emotional monument is St Cyril and St Methodius Cathedral with the National Monument to the Heroes of the Heydrich Terror!
Operation Anthropoid was a cover name for the assassination of the 3rd highest-ranked Nazi also called the “Butcher of Prague” or the “Blonde beast”, Reinhard Heydrich. Seven brave Czechoslovak paratroopers used this church as a secret hideout after the attack on Heydrich (from the 27th of May till the 18th of June 1942!). We will visit the crypt with the exhibition, then the church and show you the most important points around including where the dead bodies of paratroopers were identified… This fascinating story of bravery isn’t as much known as it should be, and it is definitely the most important act of resistance in Europe during WWII!
The next stop will be the great but sadly forgotten Strahov stadium with a capacity of 280 000 people built during the 1st Czechoslovak Republic (at that time the 5th most prosperous country in the world). We will also introduce you the how Trabant 601 works, how was life during Communism and what came with the “Velvet Revolution“. Drop-off is back in the Old Town or possibly outside the Prague Castle.
The tour cost covers the price of the Guide/Professional drivers (depending on how many Trabant cars) and 1 drink per person! Each Trabant car can take up to 3 people + a driver and the minimum number of people to book is 2! Are you a WW2 enthusiast and want to get an extended version of this tour?
